Client: CNET, Inc.
Year: 1997-1999
Projects: Web Content Headers
Challenge: To design original, flexible, consumer-oriented headers for content, working within the constraints of a primitive Content Management System.
Solution: We brought the feel of a magazine online, keeping the design fresh to keep readers interested.
My part: In the early days of the web CNET was a giant. As designers we had a lot of freedom to choose imagery, colors, and fonts, but the layout was predetermined by the first-generation CMS. I was part of a CNET redesign that involved the embracing of variable-width pages.
